Conran and Partners is an internationally renowned architecture and interior design practice, based in Clerkenwell, central London. Emerald Interiors recently worked on the fit out and refurbishment of the firm’s new headquarters to create a stunning new workspace in an existing two-storey building.
Fit out and refurbishment design
The new open plan office and studio has been created to meet today’s need for more flexible and collaborative working styles. The office’s interior was designed to feel interconnected while promoting employee interaction across the space; with a variety of inspiring environments to suit the different ways in which the team come together.
The flexible workplace includes meeting spaces, which and can be closed off, when necessary, via sliding doors; and ten break-out spaces dotted around the office, with a warmer ambience and luxe domestic feel.
Cool glass and warm timber
Bespoke glass partitions enable employees to see from one end of the studio to the other. The meeting spaces that span across the width of the floors have been formed out of large, fluted, golden bronze glass panels and screens. Wide full height sliding doors maintain the sightlines through the spaces when open and appear as translucent screens when closed. The timber panels bring texture and warmth to the scheme. Birch ply softly reflects light and contrasts with the dark stained, poplar-ply wall panelling and joinery and black steel balustrades and handrails used throughout the space.
